How To Check My Devices Under BlueBorne Attack? How to Secure My Devices? | Tips

The security research firm Armis identified massive vulnerabilities in the Bluetooth wireless technology that can allow attackers to take over people's devices, whether they be smartphones, PCs or even Internet of Things devices such as smart TVs and watches.

You can install "BlueBorne Vulnerability Scanner" app (created by Armis team) from Google Play Store to check if their devices are vulnerable to BlueBorne attack or not.

Step 1:
Download & Install "BlueBorne Vulnerability Scanner"  app from Google Play Store.


Step 2:
Open app & click "TAP TO CHECK"


Step 3:
Wait some time your devices is checking...


Step 4:
If your device is vulnerable so inform to you. your screen look like below image.


Step 5:
You can also check near devices vulnerability simply click on "Scan Nearby Devices"


Step 6:
Here one device found click on that.


Step 7:
See the report of that devices


This additional scan does require Bluetooth to be enabled and it also requires access to location services. Once both are granted, you will get a radar style image (like the one shown above) which shows you other devices in your area that could also be vulnerable.

How To Secure Youre Devices?

-Android users need to wait for security patches for their devices, as it depends on your device manufacturers.
-If found vulnerable, you are advised to turn off Bluetooth on your device when not in use.
-Update to the latest BSP and accept monthly patches to minimize security risk.
